Friday Factoid.According to a new article just published in Medscape, "The tide is coming in and out at the same time," said George F. Koob, PhD, director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuseand Alcoholism (NIAAA). "Younger people under the age of 25 are drinking less each year, are increasingly interested in things like Dry January, and more than half view moderate levels of consumption as unhealthy. People who are 26 years and older are drinking more, are not as interested in cutting back or taking breaks, and are less likely to consider 1 or 2 drinks per day as potentially unhealthy." Thankful Thursday Time!Today, I am grateful for the family of HOODED ORIOLES that has been visiting me for the last week. I have been trying to get orioles to my feeders since I started feeding birds 4 years ago. I know they are nearby because my Merlin Bird ID app picks up their sounds but I hadn’t lured any of them to my feeders (that I knew of anyway) until this month! I first saw mom & dad stopping by for mealworms throughout the day. Then I got to witness mom & baby at the feeders - mom was feeding the baby some grape jelly & teaching it how to get the jelly on its own.
